House Party 2012

So 2012 is here which can only mean one thing – game announcements and promotions. First off we all love a bit of XBLA; remember the greats like Torchlight and Beyond Good & Evil HD, well this year House Party is returning once again. While the Summer of Arcade might be the XBLA’s best-known promotion this years House Party look like it knows exactly how to compete.

Last years House Party offer started in February and ended in March and included some great games. While the newly announced House Party Collection doesn’t indicate any exact dates for release expect them to be released in Q1.

The games announced for the 2012 House Party are Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Warp, Nexuiz, and I Am Alive. While none of these have been played by the blog crew they have been highly recommended in their previews so far and the chance to final play I Am Alive is enough to excite me.

The games have a wide spectrum of genres under their belts; Nexiuz is a fast-paced shooter built on CryEngine 3, I Am Alive is the new XBLA survival apocalypse simulator, Warp is top down action puzzler that looks a bit like Mr. Splosion Man and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is the action orientated sequel to the 2010 hit game.

Of course once the dates have been confirmed I will update you further but until them I hope you a salivating at the prospect of these excellent titles. Which one are you most excited about and why?
