Winter is Coming - A Game of Thrones

The TV adaptation of a Game of Thrones has proved to be making a great impression on the public as the 63rd annual Emmy Award nominations were released recently. This series has been adored by both fans and critics and has even been put forward for best Drama Series. In addition to this Peter Dinklage has been put forward for his brilliant performance as Tyrion Lannister. He really has brought a lot to the show and given Tyrion the charisma found in the books.

Overall Game of Thrones has received an extremely impressive 13 nominations but has been beaten by the likes of Man Men (19), Modern Family (17) and another freshman series Boardwalk Empire (18).

The show has also been put forward for the Outstanding Writing award for ‘Baelor’, the penultimate episode of Season 1. This was known as the episode where the people who had not read the book thought that the series has dropped the ball. The book fans thought found this very true to the events in the pages themselves.

Hopefully Game of Thrones will pick up several awards and open itself up to a whole new selection of fans. The books are a brilliant piece of work and something any fans of the series should definitely give a go to.

Have you been happy with how the TV adaptation has worked out? What were your favourite parts of the first series/book? Please outline any chances of spoilers before commenting below.
