Dead Island

We’ve seen it all before; a Trailer that went ‘viral’ and sparked the community into frenzy only for the game itself to be given some terrible scores. Dead Island follows in the footsteps of Dead to Rights by being a game that most people were looking forward to only for the inevitable bugs to drop their enthusiasm by the wayside.

Do you remember the trailer? Of course you do, it was great. Played backwards we saw a young girl’s fatal plunge from a hotel room window was the result of a Zombie outbreak and not an iRobot style murder. The tropical resort looked beautiful and full of stunning vistas and adventure. It also brought with it a lot of questions… what was the game? What genre did it fall into? Will it be another bad rip of Left for Dead? From what I’ve head Dead Island is nothing like the impression I got from the trailer.

From the reviews I’ve read this highly anticipated game has many flaws. It is frustrating, unforgiving with collision issues and strange design decisions. It’s more like a cheesy B-movie then a Blockbuster.

A lot of reviews have said the collision system is tough to handle and that the graphical quality is poor.

I really hope this is not true and would love to hear what you think of the game? Is it really flawed or can you get past this as the game progresses?
